AJ PICKING UP THE PACE FOR
JH
In case anyone had doubts about Alan Johnson's
tuning abilities, Jim Head's performance at
Bristol should have erased those. Despite several
small engine fires, Head managed a couple of
back to back four-fifties in qualifying and
a four-sixty and change pass in the first round.
Don't be surprised to see this team win a race
soon. Johnson knows how to make power and Head
has the budget to pay for the parts to feed
a Johnson tune-up. That is a dangerous combination.

IS IT COMP ELIMINATOR OR A/EA
ELIMINATOR?
It's hard to tell, judging from the number
of A/EA that are found these days in the Comp
Eliminator ranks. Three of them qualified at
Bristol, three made it to the round of 16, and
number one qualifier David Rampy won. Maybe
NHRA should at least consider looking at the
index for that class or, better yet, soften
up the index for B/EA -- which just happens
to be the class in which DRO's Project Bad Bird
(snivel, snivel, whine, whine) competes.

we'll buy the shrimp for the barbey there!
