In Comp Cams/TCI Engineering Pro Street action,
Dan Parker qualified Pat Musi's '69 Camaro on
top at 6.715 seconds and looked destined to
pick up the win, but in the end it was the boss
who went to victory lane. Parker had a bye in
round one, then beat Tony

in round two to set up the final against Musi,
who had trailered Darrell Thomas before making
his own bye run in the semis.
However, the fuel pump had broken in Musi's
'99 Firebird, so they swapped the engine in
from Parker's ride and Musi made an anti-climactic
solo pass after the nitrous system wasn't hooked
up correctly after the change. "Not the finish
we were looking for," Musi said.
Also winning at Columbus were Rob Golobo (Nostalgia
Pro Street), Jim Pancake (Pro Nostalgia), Greg
Blevins (Super Street), Jim Robbins (Super Modified),
Phil Hines (Limited Street), Rick Moroso (Hot
Street), Jamie Stanton (Real Street), Dan Forcucci
(Drag Radial), Mike Dechicco (Nostalgia Super
Stock), Steve Gerrard (American Muscle), and
Todd Merkel (EFI).
TOP PERFORMERS
Rick Moroso, from Guilford,
CT, came from the number-three qualifying spot
in his '61 'Vette to win over Rockin' Al Miller,
who redlighted his '85 Corvette in the Competition
Engineering Hot Street final.
At each NMCA race, Nitrous
Express rewards the top qualifier running its
equipment in NX Nostalgia Pro Street with a
trophy filled with 200 gold dollar coins. Mike
Foulk earned his second straight "Pot of Gold"
with a 7.698-secs pass at 173.16 mph that put
him fifth on the ladder in his '69 Ford Torino.
