PRO STOCK

"We didn't qualify here this weekend, but it looks like we are headed in the right direction. For the first time in months I am looking forward to the next race." -- Mark Whisnant on missing the cut by just .003 secs and the rehiring of Julius Hughes as his crew chief

Darrell Alderman

"It is very tough out there, and I know that every one of these guys is going to take a shot at Jason and I." -- Points leader Greg Anderson after qualifying 3rd and his rookie teammate Jason Line qualified 9th

"I can't believe it went that fast, because it actually felt a little lazy on that run. The conditions were great. We had a track that had been washed off and recently sprayed with traction compound. The most important part, however, was the lack of water in the air. When the humidity is high, you can't make horsepower, and you can't push the body through the air. That's why you saw the record-breaking times and speeds tonight." -- Kurt Johnson after earning the number-one starting spot with a 6.778 that also reset the track E.T. record

"Since we knew we would not be bumped out of the field, we were a little too aggressive on our last run. As a result, we went over the edge, locking it up too early and shaking the tires. We knew it was a gamble, but now we know not to go there tomorrow. To be honest, I believe that was the first time we shook the tires with this particular car." -- Warren Johnson after qualifying 12th

"The right lane seems to be a couple hundredths slower than the left lane. That's the case in Pro Stock, you have to run well in qualifying and pick up lane choice. When you run behind the fuel cars, there is always a better lane out there." -- Allen Johnson after qualifying 15th, then losing in his first-round match with Jeg Coughlin Jr.

"Our GM Performance Parts Grand Am was by far the quickest car in the right hand lane in the first round today, but it just wasn't enough. The competition is so tight in Pro Stock that there is virtually no room for error." -- Warren Johnson after losing to a holeshot by Larry Morgan in the first round

"We went for it, but the track wasn't there to hold it. A lot of heat built up into the track before we were able to make our pass and we didn't plan for that. You have to have a little luck on your side. It takes that and a good team to win. I have the good team and Mopar backing us, but I just need a little good luck now." -- Gene Wilson on his second-round loss to Jeg Coughlin Jr.

"We had a different set of tires on the car and in retrospect we should've kept the other tires on it." -- Yates after a narrow loss to Morgan in round two

Jeg Coughlin Jr.

"We were just too aggressive down low and that is what really hurt us." -- Coughlin Jr. after losing to Anderson by just .001 secs in the semis
