VOLUME XIX,  NUMBER 10 - OCTOBER  2017

This was really a drag!

It’s Friday, so we often bring you some “softer” news items. And now, for a very DIFFERENT kind of "drag" race! At the San Bernardino (CA) Fest there were two teams, San Bernardino County fire fighters vs San Bernardino County Police, literally dragging a 169,000-lb. Boeing 757 jet for 90 seconds. The team that goes the farthest wins.

And to the victors went the bragging rights: the fire fighters! PEOPLE POWER!

Klugger takes Pro 275 win at ‘No Mercy 8’

After capturing his first-ever championship in the NMCA Mickey Thompson Radial Wars category, FISCUS/KLUGGER RACING (FKR) driver Josh Klugger earned the win in Pro 275 at the “No Mercy 8” race at South Georgia Motorsports Park in Valdosta, GA, October 5-8.

Running for the first time on the smaller tires wasn’t cause for concern for Klugger, who shot straight to the top of the qualifying list with a4.083 at 191.02 mph on the eighth mile. Klugger also ran in Radial vs the World qualifying so as to put a few more passes on the car and wound up running an impressive 4.044 at 194.10 mph blast – the quickest pass in history in Pro 275 trim.

In the final, opponent Richard Reagan cut a quick 0.006-second light and had the advantage over Klugger’s 0.030 RT at first, but Klugger quickly reeled Reagan in and pushed past to a winning time of 4.244 at 194.21 mph.
