MWPMS gets ‘Strange’ season sponsor

The Frankenstein Engine Dynamics Mid-West Pro Mod Series (MWPMS) has announced that Strange Engineering has come on board as an official series sponsor for its 2018 racing season. Headquartered in a 120,000-square-foot facility in Morton Grove, IL, Strange Engineering has been a leading manufacturer of high-performance driveline and suspension components for more than 50 years and also is a team sponsor to MWPMS owner, promoter and competitor Keith Haney.

“Keith and the Mid-West Pro Mod Series are really trying to make drag racing fun and, honestly, that’s what attracts me,” Strange Engineering President, Jeff Stange, said. “It’s very competitive racing, so I really like that, but it also seems relaxed and the teams are having fun with it. Personally, that means a lot to me because I think we need that for the sport to grow.”

The MWPMS series continues this weekend, March 30-31, with the Radial Revenge Tour 2018 at Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park.

Arbery awarded John Storm Memorial Trophy

Jason Arbery clinched not only an ANDRA Grand Finals victory and the 2017/2018 Summit Racing Equipment Australian Title in the Top Sportsman ranks last weekend, but he also was awarded the prestigious John Storm Memorial Trophy.

Commissioned in memory of John Storm, the first National Director of ANDRA, the John Storm Memorial Trophy is an annual national award made to the competitor in Groups Two, Three or Four who scores the highest total overall points from all rounds of the Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series, including the final event.

“It is the Holy Grail of our sport,” Arbery said. “My name is now next to the greats of the past 45 years on this trophy – words really just don’t cut it and it is going to be quite a while before it sinks in properly I think. I really just can’t believe it.”
