Megan Meyer gets speedy win

Megan Meyer dominated the TAD class at Houston setting Low ET of 5.118 seconds and Top Speed of 284.75 mph during the first round of qualifying. It was the quickest pass of her career. It ties for the fourth quickest pass and ties for the seventh fastest pass in the history of the class.

Top Alcohol Dragster: Megan Meyer, 5.231, 279.15 def. Troy Coughlin Jr., 5.266, 275.90. No. 2 qualifier Coughlin had a slight Reaction Time advantage (.050 to .055), but couldn’t keep ahead past the Christmas tree.

Top Alcohol Funny Car: Brian Hough (near lane), Chevy Camaro, 5.705, 263.31 def. Annie Whiteley, Camaro, 10.066, 89.54. This was the first time these two faced each other in a final round.

Super Stock: Pete Peery (near lane), Olds Calais, 9.198, 138.97 def. Darrin Christen, Chevy II, 9.922, 129.85. Christen had a perfect .000 light to Peery’s .002, but Peery chased him down to win by approximately 6 inches.

Stock Eliminator: Jacob Pitt, Plymouth Barracuda, 10.45 dial, 10.468, 122.93 def. Brett Candies, Ford Mustang, 9.35 dial, 9.367, 142.16.

Super Comp: Vernon Rowland, Dragster, 8.890, 166.52 def. Chris Vang, Dragster, 8.873, 171.12.
