AGENT 1320
Saturday saw the zMax Dragway stands full as (from bottom) Brittany Force, Steve Torrence, Doug Kalitta and Clay Millican made a qualifying pass.
Steve Torrence (Top Fuel), Chris McGaha (Pro Stock), and LE Tonglet (Pro Stock Motorcycle) got their first wins of the season Sunday in the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMax Dragway outside of Charlotte, NC. Ron Capps won Funny Car.
The four-wide format proved to be difficult for some of the regular winners on the NHRA circuit, but the four were not fazed. [05/01/17]

In addition, Melanie Salemi and Lizzy Musi will match race their Pro Mods and the IHRA Summit National Sportsman Championships will be run. [05/01/17]
VOLUME XIX, NUMBER 4 - April 2017
Not that the Agent has anything against the club, but he just had to remark on Terry Haddock’s sponsor at Charlotte that evidently was OK with the NHRA brass. But, as you recall, the track name on the side of Larry Dixon’s dragster at the Gatornationals did not pass the NHRA censors. Guess it depends upon where the NHRA management would prefer to be seen. Hmm? [05/01/17]
Australian racer Darren Morgan has won four Top Fuel titles and he is hoping for another with a win this coming weekend, May 5-6, in the Gulf Western Oil Nitro Thunder at Sydney Dragway. He is 37 points behind 400 Thunder leader Wayne Newby with only one more event after this one.
With a new Top Fuel dragster this season, the team led by crew chief Ben Patterson is coming around.
“The new car has been a pleasure to work on,” Patterson said. “It took us a while to get a handle on it but once we figured out what it needed, it really started coming to life. No two Top Fuel cars are the same, no matter how hard you try to make them similar, and now that we know what it wants then we can start getting after it this weekend.”
Former NHRA Top Fuel champion, Richie Crampton, will return home to Australia to compete in the event. Other classes include Pro Slammer, Pro Alcohol, Top bike, Pro Stock, and Pro Bike. All classes will race under the “all run” format with no eliminations.
The 400 Thunder Sportsman series will also be in competition. [05/01/17]
In addition, the team have run in the low 9’s at 150 mph on their new bike in testing. [05/01/17]
For the past seven years the K&N Spring Fling has been held in the middle of May at Bristol, TN, but not this year. This year GALOT Motorsports Park in Benson, NC, will host the event.
Action begins Tuesday, May 2, with a test & tune session followed by the American Race Cars/Racetech Dragster Shootout for an elite 32-car field. Both winner and runner-up receive a new dragster. Then on Wednesday the action really heats up with a $15,000 to win event and only gets hotter all weekend with a cool $50,000 up for grabs by the winner of Friday’s main event. Both Thursday and Saturday will have $20,000-to-win races each day. For more information go to www.brackeraces.com.
The Bristol event, now called the Sparco Fall Fling, will move to late September to take advantage of a better weather forecast. [05/01/17]
AMSOIL V-Twin Motorcycle Oil
AMSOIL has expanded its synthetic motorcycle oil line to include new AMSOIL 15W-60 Synthetic V-Twin Motorcycle Oil. Developed for use in Victory* motorcycles and the popular Indian* Scout*, this product presents a premium alternative to higher-priced manufacturer-branded oils. AMSOIL 15W-60 Synthetic V-Twin Motorcycle Oil is engineered to protect critical components operating in the high-heat conditions commonly found in hard-working engines. Fortified with a premium anti-wear and oxidation-inhibitor additive package to reduce wear regardless of operating conditions, it remains thermally stable and extremely resistant to breakdown. AMSOIL Synthetic V-Twin Motorcycle Oil provides excellent wet-clutch performance to deliver quiet, smooth shifting and positive clutch engagement while preventing slippage and glazing. It is catalytic converter-compatible and meets the requirements for emissions-system protection in motorcycles with catalytic converters. Its shear-stable formulation resists thinning from mechanical activity, performing like a gear lube without the negative effects of extreme-pressure additives. [05/01/17]
