AGENT 1320
The Columbus, Ohio-based McAttack is the latest Nostalgia Funny Car team in the Midwest who have quit or drastically cut back their racing schedule. The team, with driver Mike McIntire Jr. between the pipes, set the Nostalgia Funny Car ET record this year at the Bakersfield March Meet at 5.52.
The team is now for sale on Racing Junk. The Agent hears that one possible reason for the McAttack team sale was that Nostalgia Funny Car teams and owners are hearing from IHRA sources that the S50,000 purse per race series isn't just taking a year off but are not coming back next year either.
And, just a reminder that the DRO AA/FC Challenge is back this year, starting May 19-20 at San Antonio. [05/10/17]
Todd Martin from Tulsa Raceway Park spent part of last weekend getting his A/Fuel license.
Martin drove the dragster owned by Bob Everett and usually driven by Monroe Guest with Tippy Pierce handled the tuning duties. Guest, who has had surgery on his arm, was on hand to instruct Martin.
Martin says he wanted to get some seat time before the A/Fuel Challenge at Tulsa Raceway Park on Aug. 24-25. [05/10/17]
VOLUME XIX, NUMBER 4 - April 2017
The outlaw "no rules" Pro Mods of the Midwest Pro Mod series will be featured at the Throw Down at T-Town extravaganza this weekend at Tulsa Raceway Park. The sometimes out of control small tire equipped Radial Outlaws will be there too.
Keith Haney and Todd Martin the co-owners of historic TRP have developed their Throw Down at T-town races into an event no race fans should miss because ADMISSION IS FREE! This race is on Agent 1320's mus- attend list. [05/10/17]
