Piedmont, Ala., racer David Rampy took the starting line against Wes Leopold, Bethel Park, Pa., in the final round of Comp Eliminator at the Gatornationals. Leopold turned on the red light, giving Rampy his 93rd national event win. Congratulations, David!

Darlington Dragway will host this weekend’s IHRA Summit Sportsman National Championship event. Under the ownership of Russell Miller and the guidance of general manager Jimmy Bradshaw, the dragway has seen a complete remodel over the past year.
With announcers Fabian Brown and IHRA president, Mike Dunn, the broadcast will begin at 1 p.m. (Eastern) on Saturday and noon on Sunday.

In addition, the Texas Outlaw Pro Mod Association (TOPMA), Nostalgia Top Fuel Dragster and the Southwest Superchargers will be on track. Index classes of 5.80 and 7.0 will also compete. A Nitro Jam will run from 6 to 11 p.m. [03/21/17]
The field for the K&N Horsepower Challenge will feature eight of the top Pro Stock drivers in the category and seven racers have secured their position in the starting field. The eighth position will be filled via a fan vote which is still open to the public to select their favorite racers.
Drivers that have already clinched a spot into the K&N Horsepower Challenge include Jason Line, Greg Anderson, Bo Butner, Shane Gray, Vincent Nobile, Drew Skillman and Allen Johnson.
The following Pro Stock drivers are currently eligible for the fan vote: Jeg Coughlin Jr., Kenny Delco, Erica Enders, V. Gaines, John Gaydosh, Tanner Gray, Joey Grose, Matt Hartford, Mark Hogan, Tom Huggins, Deric Kramer, Alex Laughlin, Kevin Lawrence, Chris McGaha, Alan Prusiensky, Dave River, Val Smeland, Curt Steinbach, Richie Stevens Jr., Aaron Strong, Shane Tucker and Charlie Westcott.

The K&N Horsepower Challenge will be held Saturday, April 1, during the DENSO Spark Plugs NHRA Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. [03/21/17]
The spotlight will be on cars shined up to show and souped up to go at Super Summit 2017 presented by Summit Racing Equipment, June 9-10 at Summit Motorsports Park. Admission is free for participants and spectators.
Super Summit 2017 will feature a non-judged cruise-in, and participants can make fun-runs down the national event track. The event also will include an autocross course.
Summit Racing Equipment-sponsored “Bigfoot” Monster Truck driver Larry Swim will sign autographs, talk with fans and pose for photos when he's not crushing cars in the pit area throughout the weekend, and BIGFOOT #5, which rolls on 10-foot tall tires that weigh a whopping 2,400 pounds each, will be on site. A massive manufacturers' midway will boast products from approximately 150 companies, including Edelbrock, sponsor of the park's Super Series, and each will have experts on-hand to answer questions about their products and provide tech support.
