Jordan Vandergriff to make Top Fuel debut this week

Jordan Vandergriff will make his Top Fuel debut in the D-A Lubricant – PennGrade High Performance Oil dragster this weekend at the Magic Dry Organic Absorbent NHRA Arizona Nationals in Phoenix.

Jordan, nephew of team owner Bob Vandergriff, earned his Top Fuel license earlier this month at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park during the NHRA Nitro Spring Training test session. He made a career best elapsed time of 3.738 at 325.85 mph, which may be the quickest and fastest Top Fuel licensing run ever.

“The original plan was for Gainesville to be Jordan’s first race, and we had planned to test again before the Gatornationals, but after how well the preseason test went and how comfortable Jordan looked in the car, we decided to move him up to Phoenix,” Bob Vandergriff explained. “Although our schedule for Jordan is currently 12 races, if we are able to secure more funding I wouldn’t be opposed to Jordan running more races and battling Austin Prock and Jianna Salinas for rookie of the year and giving him a chance drive his way into the Countdown to the Championship.”

Delayed parts shipment causes Tucker to skip Phoenix

Australian Pro Stock driver Shane Tucker will not be competing this weekend in Phoenix due to a delay in the delivery of some badly needed back-up parts for his Auzmet Architectural/StructGlass Chevrolet Camaro.

“We found an issue that was hurting the motor,” Tucker said from his base in Dallas. “We ordered the necessary parts but just ran out of time before the race at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park. We intended to make the race as early as yesterday but rather than head West and maybe be competitive we decided to regroup and put our best foot forward at the 50thannual Gatornationals in a few weeks. We plan on doing some testing before then to make sure we are squared away.”

FS1 to air Pro Stock special coverage

FOX Sports 1 (FS1) will televise one hour of Pro Stock coverage at 9 p.m. (ET) on Tuesday, Feb. 26, from the Arizona Nationals.

Roxboro signs multi-year agreement with IHRA

Roxboro Motorsports Park in Timberlake, NC, has recently entered into a multi-year sanctioning agreement with the IHRA. The eighth-mile track is located on 42 acres and will host truck pulls, mud bogs, and concerts under second-year owner Jody Williams.

“We’ve got a good bunch of bracket racers and we have some good grudge races coming up,” Williams said. “We feel the IHRA Summit SuperSeries will help us on the bracket racing end. We’re just trying to improve everything and see where it goes.”

The 2019 schedule opens on Sunday, March 17, with a St. Patrick’s Day food drive, test-n-tune, and a gambler’s race. Points racing for the IHRA Summit SuperSeries begins on Saturday, March 23.

Terminator Stealth EFI Upgrade Components

Holley has released its Terminator Stealth EFI 2x4 Upgrade Components, which allow those who already have a single Terminator Stealth setup to upgrade to a dual 2x4 Terminator EFI setup using the throttle body they already have. Ideal for converting a 2x4 supercharged combination to EFI, they provide the classic look of a Holley 4150 carburetor but with all the benefits of modern fuel-injection technology. Take your pick from three throttle body finishes (hard-core grey, classic gold, and polished), install the slave throttle body and plug-and-play main harness, and have a certified Holley EFI tuner/installer tune it with a laptop.
