New RVW Camaro for Salemi

Pro Mod driver Melanie Salemi will be behind the wheel when the Eddie Whelan-owned, screw blown Radial Vs. The World Camaro makes its debut at the World Street Nationals in Orlando, FL, November 7-12.

The Al-Lee Installations state-of-the art 2019 Camaro was built and assembled by Melanie's brother-in-law, Jim Salemi of G-Force Race Cars, continuing the “Purple Reign” theme the team has been known for. Power for the new ride will be brand new C rotor screw blown Hemi from Mike Stawicki, owner of MSR Performance Racing Engines. The engine will be backed by a five-speed transmission from Liberty’s Gears coupled to a QuickDrive Lock up drive unit managed by a Neal Chance billet torque converter. The car will also feature the brand new V2 Masterspline billet 11-inch rear end housing dressed in Strange Engineering brakes and hubs.

The Buffalo, New York, team will also compete in this car at the US Street Nationals in Bradenton, FL, and the Lights Out 11 and Sweet 16 3.0 at South Georgia Motorsports Park to begin 2020.

Chrisp Karamesines?

The Agent just couldn’t resist putting the headline on this photo of Chris Karemesines during Friday qualifying session 2 at Las Vegas. He was not hurt but “The Greek” did not make the field.

Clean up on aisle one

Jim Maroney was leaking fuel on his burnout in the first qualifying session.  He never made a full run in the four sessions and did not qualify.

Will weight loss mean quicker times for Moore?

Six months after winning the Modified Bike class at the ANDRA Grand Final in April, Chris Moore will return to Australian drag racing a changed man.

“Since the Grand Final I haven’t really touched the bike as it had been running perfectly, so I parked it up and left it as it was,” said Moore. “What has changed is I have lost 20 kilos (about 44 lbs.) since then so now the bike does need a few tweaks to it as it is playing a bit more aggressive than I would like at the moment thanks to carrying less weight.”

Round four of the 2019/20 Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series, the Goldenstates, will be held at the Perth Motorplex (www.motorplex.com.au) on Saturday, Nov. 9.
