DHL sponsored Kalitta Motorsports teammates J.R. Todd and Richie Crampton will each race specially designed DHL 50th anniversary race cars during the final two NHRA national events to be contested in Las Vegas and Pomona, CA. Todd’s Toyota Camry Funny Car and Crampton’s Top Fuel dragster will be adorned with a throwback DHL logo alongside the current DHL livery.
“I have had an excellent business relationship with DHL since 1989,” said Connie Kalitta, owner of Kalitta Air. “They have been a great business partner off the track and for over two decades we have enjoyed tremendous success on the track with our motorsports sponsorship relationship. They are part of the Team Kalitta family and we are excited to celebrate their 50-year anniversary during our 60-year celebration.”
Since 2007 DHL and Kalitta Motorsports have been partners in one of the most successful sponsorships in motorsports. [10/25/19]
Brian Losness, DRO’s Nostalgia Editor, has some thoughts going into this weekend’s California Hot Rod Reunion about the season past and future at here. [10/25/19]
Fans can begin donating immediately and Team Kalitta is also running decals with the donation information on Shawn Langdon’s nitro Funny Car. Donations will be collected through Thanksgiving. NFF is a 501(c) non-profit organization founded in 2008 by Global Electronic Technology owner Steven Bryson and his family. [10/25/19]
Emilio Spinozzi has been making more test runs than almost anyone else in the Pro Slammer field ahead of he and brother Adamo's sophomore season in the 400 Thunder Professional Drag Racing Series, which begins on Nov. 1-2 at Sydney Dragway's East Coast Thunder event.
The driver of the 3,000 horsepower Terra Civil Chevelle has had a busier off season than most, as the team discovered a nagging electrical issue that had been holding back their potential.
“We have been chasing a problem with the two-step that has been hindering our efforts and it looks like we have got on top of that,” Emilio said.
“The crew have been working extremely hard in the off season and the boys have been amazing; it is bloody hard work. My crew chief, Michael Marriott, has been working hard at this and Darren Mayer has been an awesome help. We are looking forward to having a good crack at the 400 Thunder championship.” [10/25/19]
DRAW’s purpose is to provide assistance to drivers and crew members injured in a drag racing accident. DRAW continues to be an all-volunteer group, with no paid employees and no offices. To donate or volunteer, go to www.drawonline.org for more information. [10/25/19]
