New Product of the Day

Mickey Thompson New Pro Bracket Radial

Mickey Thompson has expanded the popular Pro Bracket Radial product line to include two new sizes - 31.0/13.5R15 (Part #3373R) and 32.0/14.0R15 (Part #3374R).

"The new Pro Bracket Radial sizes have been designed for higher horsepower vehicles with modified chassis that use a larger tire," said Ken Warner, Vice President of Marketing for Mickey Thompson. "Like their smaller counterparts, these tires will deliver quicker elapsed times with great consistency and handling."

Designed for the weekend bracket racer, the Pro Bracket Radial delivers an affordable, tubeless radial tire that provides consistent, quick elapsed times and enhanced "driver feel" at the top end of the track.

Aussie Muscat to step away from racing Nitro Harley

After competing at the Australian Winternationals, Damian Muscat announced that he was selling his Nitro Harley and would be assisting the new owner in learning how to race it.

“The decision for me to step back from racing after what you may call a brief flash in the pan is purely to concentrate on my business, which allowed me in the first instance to purchase the great bike and pursue my dream of racing a Top Fuel Nitro Harley,” Muscat told our Jon Van Daal.

Then he added, “…who knows what the future holds.”

Lucas Oil changing distribution in Australia

After Gary Phillips annexed his twentieth championship at the Australian Winternationals, he told the crowd at the trophy presentation that his sponsor, Lucas Oils, will be pulling out of the Australian market.

The Agent checked with Lucas Oil Products Motorsports Manager, Tom Bogner, who confirmed that the company had made the difficult decision due mostly to distance and cost.

“We have closed some of our distribution down already,” Bogner said.

However, the Lucas products will still be available in the Australian market as Bogner continued, “We are currently looking into distributors to continue carrying Lucas Oil.”

Hector Arana Sr. undergoes  surgery, will be sidelined three months

Pro Stock Motorcycle world champion Hector Arana Sr. of the Lucas Oil race team underwent major shoulder surgery Tuesday and will miss at least three months of competition.

Traveling from the Mello Yello Drag Racing Series race in Englishtown, N.J., two weeks ago, Arana Sr.'s race trailer had a tire blowout near Hersey, Penn. While trying to change the tire, Arana Sr., a native of Miami, suffered a torn rotator cuff in his left shoulder.

Arana Sr. expects to be out of NHRA competition for at least three months, but the longtime Lucas Oil racing ambassador will still be visible at the races as he shifts his focus to helping son Hector Arana Jr.
