Phil Mandella Jr, fresh off a Stock win at the NHRA divisional in May at Auto Club Dragway, doubled up at the SCEDA Stock/Super Stock event on Father’s Day weekend. Mandella drove his G/SA Chevelle past Doug Holder on Saturday and beat Bill O’Conner on Sunday. DNB Engineering and Calvert Racing sponsor the SCEDA Stock/Super Stock series.
Brenden Herem (far lane) beat Mike Blodgett Sr. on Sunday.
But Fred Murphy got the best of Herem on Saturday.
Brenden Herem went to two finals in the Super Street series with his ’69 Camaro, beating Mike Blodgett Sr. in the RPM Racing-sponsored Sunday final, and finishing second to 2011 series champ Fred Murphy on Saturday. Saturday’s race was sponsored by Lake Elsinore Transmission.

Aaron Kinard had a great weekend in the Southern California Pro Gas event, defeating Ryan Herem on the in the Cordeiro Motorsports/Comstock Racing-sponsored event, but lost in the final on Sunday to ’16 champ Vince Campa. Campa ran a perfect 9.900 with a .007 reaction time for the Father’s Day win, sponsored by B&B Electric.

Kaitlyn Panis was a double-up winner in the Super Pro class, beating Rob Strong and Bill Paolino in the final rounds with her McGee Cams-sponsored dragster.
Tim Seymour (near lane) and Gary Moreno
Gary Moreno went to the final both days in Pro ET, defeating Jordan Summers on Saturday while settling for runner-up honors on Sunday. Tim Seymour got the closing day win in Pro.
Sportsman ET had Garrett Hoefer picking up the win on Saturday, with Alex George the runner-up, and on Sunday, Harold Gotts won his first SCEDA event, driving his ’73 Roadrunner past Mike Shelden’s ’17 Camaro.
Jimmy Galante, Cody Garceau, Macie Gordon, and Chris Klostriech were junior winners also.
