Global set to extend sponsorship of Langdon?

With a press conference scheduled for Friday, Sept. 1, with driver Shawn Langdon, crew chief and VP of Operations for Kalitta Motorsports, Jim Oberhofer, along with Steve Bryson, founder and CEO, and Samantha Bryson, Executive VP, of Global Electronic Technology, the Agent doesn’t have to go out on too much of a limb to suggest that Global will be sponsoring Landon’s Top Fuel dragster next season.

World Series of Drag Racing returns to Cordova this weekend

World Series of Drag Racing presented by O'Reilly Auto Parts preview news conference participants, left-to-right, are Cordova International Raceway president and general manager Dominic Blasco; two-time world champion Del Worsham; IHRA president Mike Dunn; three-time Top Fuel world champion Larry Dixon; Davenport, Iowa, Mayor Frank Klipsch; Quad-Cities Convention & Visitor's Bureau president and CEO Joe Taylor; and Rhythm City Casino Resort general manager Mo Hyder.

After a disastrous move last year to Memphis by the new IHRA leadership, the question on everyone’s minds is will the World Series of Drag Racing return to its glory days at Cordova, IL?

Dom Biasco is the new president and GM at Cordova, which is now owned by IRGSE, which also owns the IHRA. He and his new staff have put together a program that includes IHRA President, Mike Dunn, and his former crew chief, Roland Leong, as co-grand marshals.

Curiously, the Big Show stars brought to this year’s event include former NHRA champions Larry Dixon and Del Worsham.
