Modern Muscle Motor Oils

Champion Brands is unveiling a new line of motor oils specifically formulated to maximize the demands of today’s high-performance street vehicles. Champion Modern Muscle® Motor Oils (CMM) are licensed by the American Petroleum Institute (API) with viscosity grades of 5W-30, 0W-40 and 5W-50. These motor oils will fit most types of modern vehicles, including high-performance turbocharged engines, supercharged gasoline engines, and multi-valve fuel injected engines found in today’s street performance automobiles and trucks plus OEM “Crate Motors” that recommend an API/SN Licensed Motor Oil or that need to meet or exceed DEXOS 1:2010 (ver.1) and DEXOS 1:2015 (ver.2). CMM Motor Oils utilize Champion’s “Blue E.T.®” (Enhanced Technology) racing additive, and Champion’s TVS® (Thermal Viscosity Stabilizer) performance additive. These proprietary technologies deliver unmatched film strength at high temperature, better piston ring seal for maximum compression, and increased horsepower and torque in most engines.

Millican piloting special shark week dragster in western swing

This weekend at the 2017 MOPAR Mile-High NHRA Nationals in Denver, Clay Millican hopes to take a bite out of his competition in his Great Clips/Shark Week themed Top Fuel Dragster.

The special livery on the dragster highlights one of Stringer Performance’s title sponsors, Great Clips, and their support of the hugely popular Shark Week on the Discovery Channel airing July 23 to July 30.

“I’m excited to be piloting such a cool car. I’m going to channel the shark thinking: the only thing on a shark’s mind is eating. All that’s on my mind is winning,” Millican said. “It amazes me how many race fans get into Shark Week. I’ll admit I watch Discovery a lot. It has some of my favorite television shows.”

While coverage of qualifying at the MOPAR Mile-High Nationals will be on FS1 Friday night, this week fans will be able to watch final eliminations live on FOX Network Sunday afternoon.

Pritchett gets in a little extra workout before busy week in Denver

Leah Pritchett, the driver of the Papa John's Pizza/Mopar dragster for Don Schumacher Racing, is a workout-aholic. Her passion for wake surfing is one means of training when weather allows in Indiana, but she got a little bit more than she planned on Sunday night.

"We went about a mile out into the lake where the water was like glass for better surfing," said Pritchett, who is No. 2 in NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series points after 13 of 24 events. "We were so focused on surfing that we forgot to keep an eye on the gas gauge."

So, of course, their engine sputtered and became silent leaving them drifting far from shore.

"Man, we pushed and pulled the boat for about an hour in the dark. My arms and legs got a great workout.”

She had stepped up her training for Bandimere and that was before she got her unplanned workout on the lake.

"We have a lot of celebrating planned with Mopar and Pennzoil on the mountain and I guarantee I won't run out of breath - or nitro - so I can blow out those 80 candles."

Mopar will celebrate the brand’s 80th anniversary this week.

Pritchett flew to Denver early Wednesday to deliver some Papa John's Pizza with Pennzoil representatives to Christopher's Dodge in Golden, Colo., the town 9 miles north of Bandimere where she will join five other DSR Mopar drivers for the annual Mopar Block Party on Thursday, July 20, that is free to all fans.

Before the Mopar Block Party begins at 6 p.m. with an autograph session beginning at around 6:30 and visits to the Papa John's and Pennzoil displays on the main drag in Golden, she will have participated at the Mopar Mile-High Nationals press conference at Elway's Cherry Creek in Denver where DSR and Mopar teammate Matt Hagan's special 2017 Dodge Charger R/T Funny Car will be unveiled along with both drivers' firesuits for the race.

Buy and drive in Denver?

The Agent noticed that along with the NHRA being a few miles away in Morrison, CO, the Mecum Auction is in Denver at the Colorado Convention Center on July 20-22. So, go buy a car and then go see some drag racing…it’s a good weekend.
